Compilation/Debugging Notes
  • Requires VS.NET 2005 (with SP1)
  • In order to debug CallButler in VS.NET you'll need to start the CallButler Service.exe with the command line argument, "-a" (without the quotes). This will start CallButler as a desktop application as opposed to a Windows Service. You can specify command line arguments in the Properties for the CallButler Service project.

Extremely easy to use and keeps on working. Have it running on an older computer without a hitch for over 60 days now!

This is wonderful and It is about time the .Net community got something this great in open source community. I will say that I'm a little disappointed with the way some previous commercial users came on and started slamming the project in a since. That was not fair as this is an open source project and no longer a commercial product there is a difference and instead of being cold about it those same users can now participate to make it better for free. The .Net community was in need of a project like this as an example of the technology. CallButler does this cleanly. I thank telephony2 for releasing this into the community and everyone should too as they could have just let it catch dust in a folder somewhere.

Good evening ( I am based in Spain)
I would like to ask you a question about installing the Callbutler as every time I attempt to do so I get the following message:
Installer information
Service 'callButler Service' (CallButler Service) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I am logged in as Admin with full rights.
I Run a Pentium at 2.13Ghz 3..00 GB of Ram and a 320GB HD
OS Windows XP pro with SP3 installed.
Could you please tell me what is going wrong? Is this a common issue? I have seen another post with a similar complaint.
The installation process ends, and terminates.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Nicholas

We saw this when we installed this morning 0 first Open source version, whoohoo and thanks! We waited about 1 minute, clicked Retry and the service then started. Maybe the first time the service starts it needs a bit of time to set things up but the installer does not wait long enough?
